"SCMC” stands for the APEC SME Crisis Management Center. The exploratory waves radiating out from the center of the logo constitute a visual representation of SCMC’s ability to react promptly to change, its responsiveness, and its ongoing monitoring of the external economic environment, which help SCMC to formulate strategies for dealing with problems as early as possible. The five detection waves symbolize the five key principles that underpin the service which SCMC provides: Monitoring, Training, Symposiums and Seminars, Research, and Consultation. These principles embody the vision on which the operation of the SCMC databases and monitoring stations is based.
